Smile

The last few months have been crazy stressful for our little family.  A couple of things pop into my head when I think about trying to stay positive in the face of adversity.
The first is a quote by Marjorie Pay Hinckley.  “The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache.”
The other is a song that I absolutely love.  "Smile"

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile.

So this is what I have been trying to do.  Some days  I am more successful than others.  But here are a few things that make me smile.
This cute girl!

This handsome little guy!

This goofy, handsome, hard working man!

The beauty of nature

The excitement she shows

This girl's sense of humor. She is pretty funny.  Hard not to smile when someone walks up to you with Mrs Potato Head's tongue in her mouth.  She is so sweet to other kids.  And says, "I love you!" all the time.

Regardless of what we go through I am a lucky girl!

Our kids are really good at giving us something to smile about (most of the time).
You know? Sometimes all it takes to turn a day around is a smile, a look or a laugh from one our adorable children or (in my case) you as well.
